Architect & artist Sumayya Vally collaborated with artist Alvaro Barrington to design a pyramid-shaped pavilion for Notting Hill Carnival, symbolizing the carnival's role as a diasporic gathering for London's Afro-Caribbean community. The incomplete structure, with four fragments carried in the parade and assembled during the event, draws inspiration from significant buildings in Notting Hill, including The Tabernacle and the historic Mangrove restaurant.

Following our introduction at Gagosian Social Works, Sumayya Vally approached Westgreen who provided pre-construction budgetary, design, programming and procurement advice, culminating in sourcing the necessary resources to successfully deliver the project.

Design & fabrication company millimetre crafted the four-piece sculptural installation, the pyramid structure comprising over 160 drawings, utilised CNC machined parts and laminated ply for varied geometric forms.
