Completed in Spring 2022, this project rejuvenates a commercial building located at a bustling retail intersection in Richmond-upon-Thames. Westgreen has undertaken a comprehensive package of works to deliver a scheme attuned to the modern commercial environment, and more in rhythm within the context of a conservation area. Externally, façades have been stripped and reconstructed with new facing brickwork, curtain walling and embossed detailing.

A remodelled and enlarged mansard roof with fourth floor terrace and green roof planting completes the exterior. An existing substation was decommissioned and replaced in a new location. The adjacent public house has been underpinned. Slabs will be at some levels extended, with a riser formed within the existing slabs and the addition of a steel framed extension to the rear. Staircases have also been remodelled. The fit-out includes installation of a lift and all internals to first fix, with full M&S service and distribution.

Due to the nature of the site, all deliveries were choreographed and the effects of noise and dust carefully mitigated for the duration of the works.

We enjoyed a collaborative relationship with the Westgreen team during a challenging time working through the pandemic. The completed building is a fantastic product that is testament to Westgreen’s quality of work and attention to detail. We would be very happy to work with the team again in the future.
